The Gaither Vocal Band was formed on a wing and a prayer in 1981 when Bill Gaither brought his experimental quartet to the microphone to sing First Day In Heaven. For the thunderous applause that followed, the quartet had no encore. So they sang First Day In Heaven again. Twenty-seven years, countless albums, six Dove awards and two GRAMMYs later, Bill insists that the Gaither Vocal Band is just four guys having a good time around a microphone.
