Damita Haddon Named GMC’S LISTEN UP Artist For Oct./Nov.

ATLANTA, GA – Oct. 13, 2008 – Motown native and Tyscot Recording artist Damita Haddon has been selected as Gospel Music Channel’s LISTEN UP artist for October/November.

LISTEN UP is Gospel Music Channel’s new multiplatform promotional campaign highlighting new and emerging Gospel/Christian recording artists who are on the verge of becoming break-out stars.

With her new album and single "No Looking Back" in stores now, Damita is no stranger to the gospel scene. Wife of gospel artist Deitrick Haddon, Damita’s vocals on "My Soul Say Yes" won her a Stellar Award in 2006, inspiring her to create her solo album. The 14-track album has something for everyone, from her title track "No Looking Back" to the love ballad "I Will Trust" and her own rendition of "I Won’t Complain," the album is a fusion of gospel, R&B and Caribbean guaranteed to uplift and motivate.

“I went a little more youthful on this release because I think that our young people really need this right now," says Damita. "We really need to get their attention. They are faced with so much temptation and if we don’t do something that makes them feel special, that moves and motives them, somebody else will.” Damita’s journey is just beginning; there’s no looking back for this gospel songstress. After leaving the group Damita toured with soul legend Aretha Franklin. Using her past experiences to guide her, Damita used the help of singer, songwriter, acclaimed producer and brother-in-law, Gerald Haddon to make the new youth inspired album, No Looking Back
