New Christian Band with Emphasis on Evangelism to Tour China the Month of August
Difference United, a Nashville-based Christian band, will be touring the month of August in China as part of the Arts Exchange-China ’08, sponsored by the Arts and Cultural Exchange Institute. Departing the United States on July 30 and returning August 28, the tour will include 17 concerts in Beijing, Kunming, Nanning, Xiamen and Shanghai.
Founded a little over two years ago, Difference United was formed with an emphasis on international evangelism. “Our music brings an excitement that crosses international and religious boundaries, bringing people together from all walks of life,” says founder/keyboardist, Aaron Miller.
The Arts and Cultural Exchange Institute (ACEI) is an organization that specializes in sourcing international artists with an interest in cultural exchange, and assisting them with performance and exhibition opportunities in China in 2008. The vision of ACEI is to see artists reclaim their cultural heritage as a way of expressing their national identity in their own nations and the nations of the world. The ACEI Vision Statement reads, “To see China transformed through the presence of Christian artists and to build positive relationships between cultures.”
This is the band’s fifth international tour since its inception in 2005. The music of Difference United is a unique alchemy blending the rhythmic underpinnings of European style pop with an American rock edge and attitude, christened with forward-thinking, hope-filled lyrics. The band’s debut EP, Dream Again, releases this fall. For more information on Difference United, visit differenceunited.com.
