The Music City might be a daunting place for many young musicians. Hundreds of talented singer/songwriters journey to Nashville hoping to learn the ways of the music world. In an atmosphere where many artists struggle to establish themselves as a new and unique sound, the Ransoms have quickly emerged as a fresh, creative addition to the scene.

Less than a year ago, lead vocalist Josiah Bakken and bassist Blaine Reedy began working through melodies that eventually became a collaborative effort. Their first EP entitled Begin at the End blends the inventive and imaginative lyrics of Bakken with the artistic instrumentation of Reedy and percussionist Dustin Ransom. Elegant string arrangements and distinctive guitar tones enhance the classic style of this project, adding to its ability to combine great texture with a smooth and innovative sound.
